Wow! My family has been experiencing some challenges over the past several months. The plant where my husband works closed at the end of September and so far still unemployed. The bank I work for is merging with another, and I got word in September that my position was "redundant" and my employment is set to end in March. My former Pastor reached out to me in September with some awesome words that I have shared with my colleagues (and many found comfort in these words):

"Most all of us have been "sheltered".

Now is a "Velveteen Rabbit" era - time to become real due to all the hard and honest lovin' going on. It'll mean we all loose some fur and get a loose eye. But indeed, my friend is that not what Christian love is all about?"

What a beautiful post!

That's a stunning observation about the shift in our society--"telling someone we love them is regarded as very significant." I felt it, but I never thought of it like that before.

This may sound silly, but right now, you've given me a lot to think about when writing relationships between my fictional characters. :-) (And of course, in my own life, too.) Thank you!
