Christ has no online presence but yours

Christ has no online presence but yours,
No blog, no Facebook page but yours,
Yours are the tweets through which love touches this world,
Yours are the posts through which the Gospel is shared,
Yours are the updates through which hope is revealed.
Christ has no online presence but yours,
No blog, no Facebook page but yours.

By my good e-friend Meredith Gould reproduced here with her permission.
I often try to encourage a stronger presence on the internet by Christians and by the church. I think this poem, a reworking of Teresa of Avila’s, says it all.

  1. This brought me a big, big sigh of relief for I have finally been able to make an important decision. For the past year I have been in discernment discovering if I should become a vocational deacon in the Episcopal Church. I already write a facebook page “Episcopalian and Loving It Every Day,” reaching over over 8000 people in less than two years. I could never reach that many as a deacon. I think the talent God has given me is online and my wife agrees. Thanks for the little extra insight.

    I am delighted Schley.
The internet is a field white for harvest.
Not only face book twitter etc.
But also the social 3D on line games such as “second life” and the like.
There is a desperate need for ministry there – especially in healing broken relationships.
Prayers are with you and prayers for others to feel called to the cyber mission field.

  3. That’s great news, congratulations! I’m learning more and more about Kingdom Economics – give and you shall receive!

With God wanting His message spread as far as possible, it is only{super}natural that He would bless our online endeavours for His glory.
