Psalm 150

I have been encouraging a deeper living with the psalms. The above video connects with the awe expressed in Psalm 150, traditionally prayed daily by devout Jews and Christians.

1 Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty firmament!
2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his surpassing greatness!
3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!
5 Praise him with clanging cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that breathes praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!

    1. Thanks for your visit and comment, Bob. But you don’t really say why it would have confused you if you were new to Christianity or Judaism, but it appears to not confuse you now? Blessings.

  1. I love the idea of being made from star dust! Remember in the film ‘Contact’ the Jodie Foster character, scientist Ellie Arroway is flying through space and it is so beautiful, she says something like ‘you sent the wrong person, you should have sent a poet …’. Love the idea of being part of the beauty of the universe – not alone but connected.

    1. Thanks. I included the star-dust idea in a sermon recently, Caro.

In Contact there’s also the moment when Ellie challenges Palmer to prove the existence of God:
Palmer Joss: Did you love your father?
      Ellie Arroway: What?
Palmer Joss: Your dad. Did you love him?
      Ellie Arroway: Yes, very much.
      Palmer Joss: Prove it.
The whole movie, in fact, is a reflection on faith. In the context of Science.

      Blessings
