  1. I loved the words on faith and doubt! Any idea where I might find that?

I’ve always had the idea that I enjoy Thomas Merton, but I have only read a little of his work.

His life is very provoking. Like those words on leaving comfort in the third clip.

    Thank you for sharing!

  2. A very powerful film. I first saw it on my sabbatical in 2008 when I spent Holy Week and Easter at the Merton Institute for Contemplative Living near Gethsemane Abbey. http://www.mertoninstitute.org/

A very good place for retreat. Or subscribe for the weekly reflection.

I believe Thomas Merton still has much to say to us– especially to current situations.

  3. Thanks so much for this. I have read and been influenced a lot by Merton. It was very interesting to note that his monestary teachs no techniques of meditation or contemplation. This ties into the Monks of Mt. Skete’s great book that I am now reading. Strange how we put so much emphasis on technique. Fr. Lawerence would say it is to avoid facing ourselves…
