The Queen, the supreme governor of the Church of England, appoints the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Crown Nominations Commission (CNC) is meeting and will pass two names to the Prime Minister, who will pass the first name to the Queen. This person will then be asked if he [and in the CofE it is still a “he”] will accept. All this will take some time.
Meanwhile let us pray for the CNC:
you have given your Holy Spirit to the Church
to lead us into all truth:
bless with the Spirit’s grace and presence
the members of the Crown Nominations Commission.
Keep them steadfast in faith and united in love,
that they may seek your will, manifest your glory
and prepare the way of your kingdom;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord.
The above video appears quite good (others may spot other errors, the media usually misunderstands church, I’m not quite sure how the chair of St Augustine is 700 years old…)
In NZ the Archbishop of Canterbury is mentioned in our constitution (PDF)
AND WHEREAS (18) this Church is part of and belongs to the Anglican Communion, which is a fellowship of duly constituted Dioceses, Provinces or Regional Churches in communion with the See of Canterbury, sharing with one another their life and mission in the spirit of mutual responsibility and interdependence;
The other so-called “instruments of communion” (Anglican Consultative Meeting, Lambeth Conference, Primates Meeting) have no canonical status in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. Some have even removed the Archbishop of Canterbury from their constitution (Nigeria springs to mind). The Archbishop of Canterbury functions as primus inter pares, Πρῶτος μεταξὺ ἴσων, the first among equals.
The hashtag for praying for the CNC is #prayforthecnc

If you enjoy speculating who might be the next Archbishop of Canterbury – here’s the bookies odds.
