Sister Anne recently commented on a blog post here on Religious Life. I promised to explore the website of her Quaker Monastery Community. I now encourage you to do the same.
I am taken by the quote they point to (and here on their facebook page): “The adventure of the Christian life begins when we dare to do what we would never tackle without Christ.” – William Penn. I can see how it is the same idea as “Stanley Hauerwas in one of his sermons comments that the church should always be engaged in doing things that make no sense if God does not exist”. An idea that we should spend good time with – individually and as communities.
Quaker Monastery combines Quaker Advices and Queries and Benedict’s Rule.
Happy exploring these ideas – and applying them in your own life, context, and community.

Today is the Seventeenth Day of Easter.
Most of the links posted above are not available. That’s my recent experience.
Sorry about that, Boni – that is obviously beyond my control. It may be possible to search for the content; they also might restore them. Blessings.
