Let us pray (in silence) [that we hold fast to the conviction that God’s purpose cannot be defeated]
your providence is unfailing,
remove from our path, we humbly pray, whatever is harmful
and grant us those things that work for our good;
through Jesus Christ, our Saviour
who is alive with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
In Aotearoa New Zealand, Anglicanism also gives the option of this coming Sunday being Te Pouhere Sunday. I am not keen on “theme” Sundays – and, if we are to have themes, I think they can normally (with few exceptions) be fitted within and around our agreed RCL lectionary readings which are shared internationally and ecumenically.
