Bishop gets rid of the crook on his staff

[jwplayer mediaid=”12804″]

BREAKING: The first act of the Most Reverend Doctor Richard Clarke as the new Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland was to get rid of the crook on the staff he inherited from the Most Reverend Alan Harper. Archbishop Richard Clarke also made a significant start to his ministry as primate by holding together the divided staff in St Patrick’s Cathedral in Armagh. Richard Clarke was the Bishop of Meath and Kildare. He comes with strong ecumenical experience. He clearly has the resources to goad the spiritually lax, but does he now have what is needed to draw back those who stray?

Archbishop Richard Clarke was last weekend translated from Meath and Kildare to be the 105th in the succession of abbots, bishops, and archbishops of Armagh since St Patrick as the new Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland.

Not without the crook on his staff!!

  2. So glad the bishop is far away with a crook on his staff. Any closer to home and I might worry that I was the crook on the bishop’s staff!
